Korean Man Dawit Han Fell/jumped/pushed To Death From Pattaya Apartment

Another foreign tourist has died in Pattaya after falling from his balcony on the fourth floor this morning.

The incident occurred on Friday at an unnamed apartment building in tambon Nong Prue, amphoe Bang Lamung, Chon Buri province. Rescue volunteers who were the first on the scene tried to resuscitate Dawit Han, 24, from South Korea who had fallen from his balcony in room no. 401 several minutes earlier.

Pol Lt Col Chalermgiat Sirimak from Pattaya Provincial Police Station told reporters Mr Han suffered fatal injuries during the fall which made it unable for rescue workers to revive him. He passed away shortly after their arrival on the concrete floor next to the building where he had impacted.

The Thai girlfriend of Mr Han’s friend told police officers the three had been drinking together at his friend’s room the night before the incident. As Mr Han went back to his room, he reportedly slammed the door of his room in anger, but when his friend came over to check on him, he did not open the door.

Shortly afterwards, the two heard the sound of an impact below Mr Han’s room. Looking through the window, they saw his body lying on the concrete floor with blood emerging from his mouth and head.

According to Pol Lt Col Chalermgiat, Mr Han had just graduated from a university in South Korea and had been staying in Thailand for two weeks. An initial investigation could not determine whether Mr Han’s fall was an accident or whether he intendedly jumped to his death.

The cause of suicide is not yet unidentified because he was normally in good mood.
